Overview
Follow Me To Maldives (FMTM) is a Malé-based travel company, founded in 2022, that connects travellers with local tour operators and properties approved by its team. The public site at followmetomaldives.com is a full booking marketplace: visitors search by place, date and number of guests, then book multi-night packages, day activities and accommodation across islands such as Maafushi, Fulidhoo, Hulhumalé and Thimarafushi. The site also runs the company's own Malé city tours.

- Four ways to book: holiday packages (Honeymoon, Marine, Family, Adventure and more), things to do (city tours, diving, surfing, fishing, yoga), stays (guesthouses and hotels) and fixed-date group trips.
- Group trips: solo travellers can join a small group on a fixed date. The price drops as the group grows, and nobody pays if the trip does not run.
- Rich listing pages: photo galleries, highlights, what is and is not included, a step-by-step itinerary with a map, operator profiles and verified reviews.
- Built for international visitors: 9 interface languages and 9 display currencies, with payment taken in USD by card.
- Destinations and blog: island guides and travel articles that also support search traffic.
- Partner portals: separate portals for vendors (operators), travel agents (fmtmconnect.com) and a referral programme.
- Privacy controls: cookie consent that leaves analytics off until the visitor accepts, and a self-service "Delete My Data" page.
Technical Highlights
- The public storefront is a Next.js (App Router) app styled with Tailwind CSS. It uses next/image for responsive images and Leaflet for maps.
- A Laravel REST API (PHP 8.3) on its own api. subdomain serves the storefront, a mobile app and several Vite-built portals (admin, vendor, agent, POS, partner). The code lives in one pnpm and Turborepo monorepo.
- Media is delivered from a dedicated CDN subdomain as resized WebP images in several sizes.
- The production stack is Dockerised: nginx, the PHP backend, queue workers, a scheduler, MySQL and Redis. It sits behind Cloudflare.
